Setting Up Your Voice Mail

 

  • Dial your 10-digit wireless number.
  • Press * (the star key) during the recording.

 

The voice mail system will take your through the new subscriber introduction where you can set up your password, outgoing message and voice signature.

 

You can return to the new subscriber introduction at any time by pressing 888.

 

Press 88 for a general introduction to the voice mail system.

 

 

Press 8 for Help

 

If you're in the voice mail menu and aren't sure what to do, press 8 for help.

Retrieving Your Voice Mail Messages

 

A voice mail icon on the phone’s display indicates you have voice mail messages. On some phones, you will be able to access your voice mail through that icon.

 

You can press and hold the 1 key on the dial pad to quickly access your voice mail.

 

You can always access your voice mail by dialing your 10-digit wireless number.

 

  • Press * (the star key) during the outgoing message.
  • Enter your password and press * (the star key).
  • Follow the instructions provided by the voice mail system from this point to retrieve your messages.

 

Note: Messages that you keep will be stored for 18 days.

 

If you're not on an unlimited plan, you will use voice minutes when accessing voice mail from your wireless phone. There are no airtime charges when accessing your voice mail from a landline phone.

 

If you're not on a nationwide plan, you could incur roaming charges when checking your voice mail out of your primary area. Check the details of your voice plan for more information.

 

 

Options During and After Message Playback

 

If you need to hear the message again, you have the following options:


  • To back up 8 seconds, press 1.
  • To back up to the beginning, press 11.
  • To go back to the previous message, press 111.
  • To go to the next message, press 6.

 

After each message, you will hear the following options:


  • To back up, press 1.
  • To keep, press 2.
  • To delete, press 3.
  • To reply, press 4.
  • To forward, press 5.
  • Next message, press 6.

 

 

Skip Password Option

 

Choose whether you want to enter a password each time you check voice mail from your wireless phone. Even if you choose not to require a password on your wireless device, one will still be required when accessing your voice mail box from another phone.

 

To access the Skip Password option:

 

  • Access your voice mail
  • Press the following short code: 3 > 4 > 3. (Each > indicates a new menu.)
  • Follow the prompts to turn Skip Password on or off.

 

 

Time and Date Stamp

 

You can turn on the option to hear the time and date each message was left before it plays. If you don't want to hear that information before each message, you can turn it off.

 

To access the Time and Date Stamp option:


  • Access your voice mail
  • Press the following short code: 3 > 4 > 5. (Each > indicates a new menu.)
  • Follow the prompts to turn the Time and Date Stamp on or off.

 

 

Extended Absence Greeting

 

Turn on an alternate greeting to tell callers when you're unavailable for an extended period. It's a great feature when travelling, in an all-day meeting or on vacation. When you're available, a quick setting change switches back to your primary greeting.

 

To access the Extended Absence Greeting:


  • Access your voice mail
  • Press the following short code: 3 > 4 > 1 > 2. (Each > indicates a new menu.)
  • Follow the prompts to select and record your Extended Absence Greeting.

 

The Extended Absence Greeting is not available on iPhones.

 

Bypassing the Outgoing Message

 

When leaving a voice mail message for someone else, you can skip their outgoing message by pressing ** (the star key twice) when it begins to play.

 

After the beep, leave your message.
