Gift Card Frequently Asked Questions

There are two types of C Spire gift cards: a traditional gift card (a fun piece of plastic that can be used like a debit card until the funds are depleted) and an e-gift card (a convenient electronic gift card delivered via email). For the purposes of this FAQ, "gift card" refers to both traditional and electronic gift cards, but exceptions are noted where applicable.

PURCHASING A GIFT CARD

 

 

How do I purchase a gift card?

You can purchase a gift card online, through Telesales or in a retail location.

  • Online - Simply choose to purchase a gift card and decide between shipping a traditional gift card and emailing an e-gift card to the recipient.
  • Telesales - Call toll-free 1-855-CSPIRE4 (277-4734) to order a traditional gift card and provide the recipient's shipping information.
  • In a retail location - Traditional gift cards can be purchased at all C Spire retail locations.

 

 

How are gift cards shipped?

Traditional gift cards are shipped via U.S. Mail. Peak mail delivery times (like Christmas) may delay the arrival of your gift card. Please consider the delivery time when deciding the date to purchase your gift card.

 

An e-gift card can be ordered online and delivered to the recipient within hours, but often sooner. You'll need the recipient's email address for sending an e-gift card.

 

 

What if I need to send a gift card immediately?

Consider purchasing an e-gift card. It can be used just like a traditional gift card but is delivered via email. e-gift cards will be delivered within hours of purchase but often sooner. You'll need the recipient's email address. Please note that some people may have SPAM filters set up on their email accounts. This could potentially delay or prevent delivery to the recipient's email In Box.

 

 

Can I order a gift card for someone else at the same time I order something for myself (like a phone or accessories)?

It's no problem to shop for someone else AND yourself at the same time. All of the items purchased will be included in  an email containing a summary of your shopping cart. You will receive separate emails regarding the delivery of your gift card and the shipment of your equipment purchases.

 

 

How will I know if you received my gift card order?

Soon after you place your gift card order, you will receive an email summarizing the items you purchased. This will include gift cards and any equipment purchases.

 

 

How will I know when my gift card is delivered?

If you have chosen to ship a traditional gift card via U.S. Mail, you will receive an email when the gift card has shipped providing the details of the gift card order and the recipient's information as you entered it.

 

For e-gift card orders, you will receive an email when the e-gift card has been sent to the recipient's email address. It will confirm the details of the gift card order and present the recipient's information as you entered it.

 

 

What does an e-gift card look like?

It includes all of the information need for redemption presented in a fun, graphic format. An e-gift card can be redeemed online, through Telesales or printed and redeemed in a C Spire retail location.

 

 

Do I pay for shipping when I send a gift card via U.S. Mail?

No, shipping is free.

 

 

Can I purchase a gift card in a C Spire store and have it shipped?

No, only traditional gift cards purchased online or through Telesales can be shipped to the recipient.

 

 

Can I include a personal message to be delivered with my gift card?

Yes, when you order a gift card online or through Telesales, you can supply a personal message to be shipped with your traditional gift card or delivered in the email with your e-gift card. A personal message can be written on the packaging of a traditional gift card purchased in one of our stores.

 

 

What do I do if I have questions about my gift card order?

For questions about your online gift card order, email us at askus@cspire.com. Please include your contact information and the order number included in your confirmation email. Any problems related to the delivery of a gift card should be communicated within 30 days of purchase. You will receive a response to your inquiry within two business days.

 

 

Does the gift card expire?

No, it doesn't, but after 12 months of not being used, a $3.00 per month service fee will be deducted from the remaining balance until depleted, except in Tennessee or where prohibited by law. We may remit the cash associated with unused gift card balances in accordance with applicable state laws. Once we have remitted that cash, the gift card may no longer be redeemed.

 

 

REDEEMING A GIFT CARD

 

 

Where can I redeem my C Spire gift card?

You can redeem a gift card online, through Telesales at 1-855-CSPIRE4 (244-4734) or in a C Spire store.

 

 

How do I redeem my gift card?

To redeem your gift card online, select the Gift Card payment method at checkout or when paying your bill.

 

To redeem your e-gift card in a store, simply print out the email containing your e-gift card information and bring it with you. We will require a valid ID when redeeming a gift card in a store. Your e-gift card works just like cash, so protect your e-gift card number and PIN.

 

 

How do I check my gift card balance?

You can check your gift card balance online or by calling toll-free 1-855-CSPIRE5 (277-4735) and following the automated prompts.

 

 

Does my gift card expire?

What's my gift card number? Where can I find it?

Your gift card number is a unique 16-digit number with which you are able to redeem the balance on the gift card. On a traditional gift card, the gift card number comprises the first 16 digits found on the back of the card directly above the magnetic stripe. On an e-gift card, the gift card number is in the body of the email.

 

 

What's my PIN? Where can I find it?

The gift card's Personal Identification Number (PIN), is a four-digit code that authorizes your gift card. It offers an additional measure of security because you have to scratch it off in order to reveal it. The PIN can be found on the back of the gift card.

 

 

What happens if I lose my gift card or the email containing my e-gift card number?

We do not refund or replace lost or stolen gift cards. Remember, your gift card works like any other legal tender, so protect it in the same manner.

 

 

Can I put more money on my gift card?

No, C Spire gift cards can't be "reloaded."

 

 

Will I receive money back from a purchase using a gift card?

No, you will not receive money back from a purchase made using a gift card. For example, if you have a $25 gift card and purchase a $20 item, you will not receive $5 back. You can continue to use the gift card until the remaining funds are depleted.
